You possess the flexibility to seamlessly initiate a domain transfer, which allows you to alter the administration of your domain. This action is commonly undertaken to obtain more favorable terms or to unify your hosting services.
It’s crucial to recognize your entitlement to transfer your domain whenever necessary, barring certain limitations. For instance, a domain cannot be transferred more than once within a 60-day interval to safeguard against unauthorized takeovers.
Different registries govern Top Level Domains (TLDs) such as .com and .co.uk, and each registry has established unique protocols for transfers.
For a smooth transition of your domain to our services, please consult the relevant guides that correspond to the specific TLD you intend to transfer.
Transfer a Domain to Halls Hosting
To ensure a smooth transfer process, verify that the domain is not locked. If the domain is locked, the transfer will be halted, resulting in the error “clientTransferProhibited” Addressing this issue early on can prevent delays and extended waiting times. If you are uncertain about how to unlock your domain, please visit your current registrar’s website for further guidance and information.
To transfer a .co.uk or any other UK TLD
You must request your current domain provider to change the IPS TAG on the domain to ours, which is ‘CLOUDNS‘. Once this change is completed and the domain is under our tag, the transfer process will proceed. It is important to note that you are still required to create a transfer purchase order for this process to be finalized.
To transfer a .com, .net, .org, or any other TLD
You should request an authorization code (EPP code) from your current registrar. This code will be necessary for the next step of the transfer process.
To initiate the domain transfer to Halls Hosting, you can commence the process by accessing your client area.
